I can't really list them all here, it would take up too much room. Just so ya know, I do not own The Weather Channel, or The X-Files. All standard disclaimers. Yada yada yada. * * * * * Blizzard * * * * * I snuggled under my blanket, waiting for the Weather Channel's update on the snowstorm that blew in early this morning. I had settled back with some movies, popcorn, and hot chocolate, huddled under a blanket on my couch. When the power started flickering, I knew that I should have called Mulder just in case something happened, but I didn't. I heard the wind howling outside, and I shivered. It reminded me of Antarctica... that cold snow against my face.... I turned my attention to the weatherman, who looked slightly bored with his job. I remembered unpacking my overnight bag from our last case. "C'mon, Dana, get up, go pack it. With your luck, Mulder will drag you off to some town that's not even on the map to look at dead cows with stupid holes in their necks." I fought the will to stay under the warmth, and went into my bedroom, quickly packing a bag that would suffice if I was forced somewhere else during this storm. I could always repack it later. I went into my kitchen, and seeing the power flicker again, I made sure I knew where my flashlight and cell phone were. I checked the batteries. Good. All done. I knew I should put a bag of food together, because I wouldn't be stopping anywhere, if I was forced to go somewhere else. "Get a grip Dana. This is just a little storm. You've been through much more than this. Sometimes you are such a wimp. You have your bag packed, fresh battaries, you don't need anyone or anything else." As if on cue, the power went out, and the heat pump stopped. My father would not have been proud of the words that came out of my mouth. I put together that second bag. As I did, I called Mulder on my cell, since my ground phone was dead. "Mulder," that familar voice answered. "Hey, it's me." "What's up, Scully?" "My power just died.... yours is obviously fine though.." "Why do you say that?" I could feel him grinning on the other end. "You have a cordless phone, Mulder." "Oh, yeah. Why don't you come over here until your power comes back, ok?" "Sounds good Mulder. Would you mind picking me up?" I smiled at his straightforwardness, and was glad I knew him the way I did. I had completely expected that answer. "No problem. Be right over." That too, was expected. "Thanks." We hung up. I turned off the tv and all the other lights that had been on, and got comfy on the couch underneath all of my blankets again, just as I heard Mulder's knock on my door. I called for him to come in, as I fought my way out of the tangle of blankets. I felt him come in and stand in the middle of the room, waiting for me. I pulled the warmest of the blankets with me. I wrapped it around myself, and handed my overnight bag into the darkness in what I hoped was his general direction. "Here, hold this for a minute." He took it. I pulled my coat on, and picked up the second bag. Mulder's flashlight clicked on, examining the new bag. "What's that Scully?" "I assume you don't have any edible food at your apartment." "Well, no, not really. I wasn't counting on the storm getting any worse. It seems to have really built up, and it all came down on me on my way over." "Yeah, it sounds as if the wind had gotten stronger." As if to substantiate this, a blast of wind howled and screamed outside. I felt a draft as the warmth of the last of my heat went out the door into the hallway. I shivered. I felt Mulder step closer. He reached out for my hand. His light shone at weird angles into corners and walls. I felt around in my pocket, and balanced my keys, and bag in one hand, and took his hand in my free one. I felt him smile at me. Oh, he was so beautiful when he smiled, even if it was in the dark. We made our way downstairs, very carefully, using a flashlight, staying very close together. We finally made it to the car, and Mulder drove very slowly, careful to look for ice. The normally fifteen minute drive took about forty, averaging about 25mph. "Scully, what would you do if I told you *my* power went out?" "What, you mean now?" I was suspicious of him, and was hoping he would say no. "Just kidding." He grinned. I fought back the urge to slug him. He reached over and took my hand. I sighed and looked at him as he drove. I knew that he knew that I was watching him, but neither one of us said anything. I leaned my head back, and watched as the snow on the window next to him made him look even warmer, safer, and I got a warm feeling all over, just knowing that he was there, and that he would take care of me, if need be. We came to a light, and rolled to a stop. He looked over at me, and brushed a few loose strands of hair out of my eyes. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. He leaned over, and kissed me, completely catching me by surprise. I stared back in disbelief and he went through the light. He stole a glance at me, and grinned. I got over my surprise, and when we got to the next light, I got him back. This time I grinned at him, and kissed him, surprising him. He smiled at me (oh that smile!),and proceeded through the light. It was a wonderful game. At every light, we would kiss the other, racing to the other's lips, just long enough to leave a want for more. When we pulled up in the parking lot, I leaned over, and kissed him, long and slow. He responded by exploring my mouth. I felt along all the ridges of his teeth, felt that soft flesh, and let my tongue dance on his bottom lip. We pulledapart for air and a slow, sleepy smile came over his face, as he said something about going inside. I agreed. We made our way up to his apartment slowly, letting that last kiss linger on our lips. I wanted more, but kept my hands to myself. I saw Mulder trying to do the same thing, and couldn't do it. Once we got into the apartment, the overcoats and boots disappeared in a heap by the front door, and we walked into his living room in thick socks, moving soundlessly. He took me in his arms, and held me close without saying a word. I leaned against him, breathing in his smell, feeling safe and loved. I pulled away, and smiled at him, letting him know that everything was ok. He smiled back in relief, telling me that he loved me. I let him know with the look in my eyes, putting my arms around his neck, that I loved him too. "I assume you haven't eaten dinner yet?" I asked him sleepily. "Not yet." He smiled. I felt my blood flow faster at *his* smile. Still smiling, I said, "Well then, I'll cook *something* if you stay out of my way." He grinned. "Sounds fair. I'll call the power company, and find out when your power will be fixed." "You do that Mulder." I smiled He went into his living room, and I went into the kitchen, found a pot and filled it with water. As that was boiling, I set the table, and was glad I had thought to bring that bottle of wine. I went back to the water, and poured some pasta in. I stirred it, and worked on chilling the wine down a little bit. Mulder suddenly put his arms around my waist. I jumped. "Jeez Mulder, warn me next time." He laughed, and kissed my shoulder. I turned around in his grip, and put my arms around his neck. He pulled me closer. I told him by simply meeting his eyes that I trusted him, and would gladly go along with whatever he started. He grinned, eyes dancing. I felt faint in his arms, with his face looking like that. He must have realized that because he made me sit down. I watched him move gracefully around the room, finishing what I had started. I got up after a minute and shooed him away playfully. "Go watch some tv. I'll call you when dinner's ready." "You sound just like my mother." He teased. I smiled. "And you probably didn't listen to her, either, did you?" "Nope." He smiled. I smiled. Instantly, I was back in his arms. He kissed me senseless. I tried to regain common sense. 'No,' I thought. 'What if the Bearau finds out? It's not worth losing our jobs over.' "Scully, stop thinking about work." I stared at him for s minute, trying to figure out how he knew. "You're thinking about them, aren't you?" I slowly nodded. "I know my apartment is subject to spontaneous surveilance, but I have checked it, and there is nothing to worry about." "How did you know Mulder? And don't tell me ESP because I won't believe it." He laughed at my seriousness. "You get a certain look in your eyes when you're thinking about work. That little light in your eyes goes out. You forget how to smile." I looked at him, and laughed feeling carefree. He smiled, and pulled me closer. I didn't think that it was possible to be held any closer than he was already holding me. "Mulder, that was almost poetic." "Oh really." I heard water splashing over the side of a pot. I broke free, stirred our dinner and served it. He pulled me back in his arms. "Mulder, free me please." "And what if I say no?" He asked me, mischief dancing in his eyes. "Well, then, I guess I'll have to endure the torture, but I warn you, I'm not heating that food up, if you cause it to get cold." He grinned, then freed me. "Fine Scully, you win." I smiled, and sat down. He sat across from me. Suddenly, he stood up. "Wait." he commanded. "I'll be right back." I wondered where he was going, but sat anyway, and sipped my wine. It rushed down my throat, the cool liquid leaving a plesent burning sensation. I loved that feeling. I hear him coming back in, and watched as he set two candles down. One on each side of the table. He lit them, and dimmed the lights. "Expecting something Mulder?" "Just hoping." "Oh, well, that does make a difference, now doesn't it?" He smiled at me, not asking anything but to be in my company, and let me let him watch me. Maybe later, hold me in his arms. I happily obliged. I slowly started eating.I noticed Mulder wasn't eating. Just staring off into space. As usual. I decided to tease him a bit. "Mulder, you ok?" He snapped out of it. "Yeah, I'm fine." "That's my line." "Oh. Sorry." He slid back into his dreamworld. I stood up and moved next to him. "Mulder," I whispered seductively into his ear. "What are you thinking about?" I slid into his lap, sliding my arms around his neck. He automatically wrapped his arms around my waist. He smiled faintly in his dream. "Mulder," I tried again. "What's wrong?" I kissed him right in front of his ear, and put my hands in his hair. He finally looked at me. "It's nothing Scully. But, while you're here..." "Not yet, Mulder." I picked up his fork, and began to feed him. He seemed to be amused by this. Every few bites I would take a bite, which seemed to tease him even more. I felt him becoming tense. I put the eating utensil down, and started slowly rubbing his shoulders. He closed his eyes, and leaned his head back. "Mulder." I whispered. "I'm going back to my own food now. Can you feed yourself like a good boy?" I smiled, and took my hand out of his hair. "Scully, stay here." It was more of a command than request. I heard the wind howl outside, as a reminder that we would have several days together. And nights. "Mulder, we have time. Eat your food, and I'll eat mine. Please, let me go." He scowled. And let me go. He looked hungrily at me. I smiled, knowing full well that I would never get to have that *talk* with him before anything else happened. I went back to eating my own dinner, and we had both just gotten up to put our dishes in the sink when the power failed. We stood there in the darkness, in half-disbelief, while we were both laughing at the ironic turn. "Mulder, this would only happen to us." He laughed. "I think you're right." I slowly moved towards the sink, my path illuminated by the candles he had lit not so long ago. I saw in the shadows that he was following me. I filled the sink with some soapy water, and allowed myself to be folded up in his arms. He rested his chin on the top of my head. It was nice, until the door blew open, and a blast of icy air with it. Mulderwent and closed it, locking the lock, making sure it wouldn't happen again. While he was gone, I went into the bedroom and laid down, suddenly very tired for no apparent reason. I heard Mulder looking for me. When he found me, I was starting to curl up in my usual ball and fall asleep. He laid down next to me, and took my hand in his. He rubbed it until it was quite warm, and sat up. He picked me up, pulling the blanket out from under me, and put me back down in the cold sheets. I felt the warmth of the blanket, and his body as he slid close to me. He wrapped his arms around me, and I wished that I could be out of these clothes. I wanted a hot shower, and some fresh comfy clothes. I wiggled out of his arms, and kissed him lightly, as I got out of bed. "Where are you going?" "I'm going to take a hot shower and change. I'll be back in a few minutes." "Oh....ok. Don't be gone too long." I smiled, and looked at his sleepy face through the darkened apartment. He was so adorably handsome. His hair was tousled, boyish grin in his eyes, and a character that made me, well, want him so terribly badly, to put it honestly. I stepped into the hot water in the darkness, and relaxed into it. I massaged my hair, and let the water run over my face. I heard someone strike a match, and put a candle by the sink. I hadn't even noticed the door open. More surprising still, I never felt the cold air. Well, his apartment wasn't THAT cold, yet. I smiled, and peeked out. Mulder was just leaving. "Mulder?" "Yeah?" "Thanks." "No problem." He left, and closed the door as silently as he had opened it, showing me how I hadn't noticed before. I rinsed out my hair, and turned off the water, quickly drying off with a towel, and jumping into my sweats and wool socks. I rubbed my head, and hoped that I would make it back to the bedroom before ice crystals started forming on my head. Mulder was half-asleep when I crawled in beside him. "You're back." "Yes, I'm back." We slid back in each other's arms. I pulled the blanket around us, and snuggled closer to him. "Hey Mulder?" I needed to have that *talk* with him. "Yeah Scully?" He looked down into my eyes, and seemed to know what I was about to say before I said it. He tried to tell me I didn't need to say it, that he already knew, but I shook my head. I needed to say it aloud. "Mulder, I love you. I love you so much. You've been so good to me, done so much for me. I can never repay what you've done for me. You're so much more to me than a partner...more than a friend even. You're my best friend. When I had my cancer, when I first found out, you were the one I was afraid to tell. I was afraid that you would blame yourself, that you would fight me. I didn't know what I would do if you turned on me. I just can't live without you." I finished, and relaxed. I knew he had to say a similar speech; I could feel it coming. "Scully, I can never tell you how much I care for you, because it goes beyond that. When you were gone those three months, I died. I died everytime I heard you name, saw your face, or dreamt about what they were doing to you. I was so afraid, Scully. I was so afraid I would lose you. I can't live without you. You complete me. I can't even stand it when someone else even looks at you. I don't want to see you taken away from me. When we went to that vampire place, that deputy...he kept looking at you, and I can be completely honest in telling you that if had to see him one more time, I would have knocked the living shit out of him." I laughed, not being able to stand the seriousness of it all any longer. I kissed him to shut him up, feeling playful and light- headed. "Or that weatherman." I kissed him again. "Or everytime Skinner thinks I'm not watching him look at you." I stared at him. "What?!?" He laughed this time. "Poor guy has it for you bad Scully." I laughed. "Are you being serious Mulder?" "Afraid so." A smile twitched at the corners of his mouth, but I knew he was serious. "That's awful!" I giggled, and smiled at Mulder. "Don't worry, the feelings are strictly one-sided. I wouldn't trade you for anyone else, any day." "I should hope not." I felt his hand slip under my sweatshirt, and slowly rub my lower back. I leaned into him, and closed my eyes. "Scully, my point is not to make you fall asleep." "Too bad Mulder, I think I may anyway." I reached up, and put my hand on the side of his face. My body started drifting off to sleep as I tried to curl up in my usual position. To my dismay, I couldn't. Mulder held me close, and I breathed in his smell, letting it penetrate the deepest regions of me. It was such a familiar smell. Just as I knew he loved smelling my hair, he knew I loved smelling him. It's a funny thing to say, but it's true. Call us crazy, lots of people already do. But we love smelling each other. I giggle, and Mulder looks at me. I kiss him, and lay back down. I am, after all, so incredibly tired. I feel his arms around me, comfortingly. I lay into him, and let my hand drape over his side. I am intoxicated with his smell, and I drift to sleep on a cloud that is filled with Mulder's being. I feel his lips on me, trying to bring me out of it, and I ignore him as much as possible. I hear him softly calling my name. Where is he going? I feel him moving down to my feet. Mulder, what the hell are you doing? "Mulder," I mumble. "What the hell are you doing? Come back, it's lonely without you here." I feel him climbing back to me. He crawls under the blankets, and takes me in his arms again, kissing my face lightly to keep me awake. Damn him for being so sweet. "Mulder, stop it. Please, stop." I open my eyes, and he stops. "Was that so hard Scully? I just wanted to see your eyes." Oh damn him. If he weren't so damn adorable, I'd smack him. Really hard. "Mulder, please, let me go back to sleep." Iinched closer to him, burying myself in him. "I'll do anything if you let me sleep." "Anything?" "Almost. All suggestions are subject to approval." "Fine print huh?" "Something like that." He whispered in my ear. "Let me take off your clothes and see your skin Scully." "If you promise to call me Dana." "When it's only us. And, if you'll call me Fox." I stared at him. "What happened to `I even made my parents call me Mulder.'?" He smiled. "I met you, and somewhere, fell in love." Now it was my turn to smile. I pulled off my sweatshirt, and the shirt underneath, and my sweat pants, leaving on my socks. I leaned back into him, pulling the blanket up around me, and feeling his arms all over me, exploring my flesh as I had longed to feel for so long. And I chose to sleep through it. If I had ever had a dumb moment, this would surely top it off. I willed away any urge I had left to stay wake, and dozed off into a very dreamy night, and the best sleep I think I have ever had in my life. I woke the next morning to blankets tucked around me, and no one in sight. I looked around, and tried to remember where I was. I looked at the ceiling, and saw myself. I came pretty damn close to screaming, but managed to keep it back. Mirrors on the ceiling... one person I can think of. I started to freak out, but as I did, events of the past night came back to me. The kisses, dinner, my shower, and finally, drifting off to sleep. Where had my clothes gotten to anyhow? Oh well. I'd just have to wait until Mulder came back, which I hoped was soon. I thought back to my dream. Talk about the paranormal; he'd have a field day with this one. And not only because of the X-Files, because he was the physcologist. I giggled. Where was that man? I sat up, wrapping myself in the fleecy material. "Fox? Where are you?" I called. I heard him pad towards theroom. I smiled as he came into sight. I held out my arms. He slid into them magnificintly. I felt him kiss the hollow in my neck, and I ran my fingers through his hair. "Where did you go?" I asked rather innocently. "I was looking for some breakfast. Or a way to make coffee." I laughed. "There are some pop-tarts in my bag. Sorry, but I can't help you with the coffee." He kissed me again. "My angel." Past his embrace, I caught sight of the snow that was still falling outside. It was going to be a great storm.
