She put all the stuff she had collected on the couch. "Who is it?" she asked. "Me." "Me, who?" she smiled, standing by the door. "Come on Scully, it's cold, I have no heat and I don't feel that good. Let me in." "Mulder, I have no heat either, in case you haven't noticed, there is a power outage." She opened the door to let the winter clothed man in. "We'll stay warm togethor," he waggled his eyebrows at her. "And just what makes you think I would want to stay warm with you?" "You love me," he said as if it was something he said to her every day. "I do, do I?" She smiled at him, "and just what makes you think I love you?" "Scully, you're my partner, and partners just know things like that. Now are you going to let me stay or do I have to go back to my cold apartment with no blankets and no fireplace?" He gave her his best puppy dog eyes. "Fine, you can stay. On one condition." "And that is?" "That you behave, and don't make a mess." "Yes, Mom." He removed his six layers of clothing and sat on her couch. "So where are all the blankets? You got enough wood?" Dana sighed, "The blankets are in the closet and the wood is over there." She pointed at a pile of wood by the fireplace, "could you go and get the blankets?" "Sure," he went off to find the blankets. Dana went back into the kitchen and grabbed all the munchies she had bought on her way home from work that afternoon. "Hey Scully, look what I found in your closet." She walked back into the living room and he was holding up a small radio. "I forgot I had that, I wonder if the batteries still work." "Let's try it out." He sat down beside her and turned the radio on, sure enough it still worked. "Great, now we have entertainment," he smiled. "Mulder, do you have a fever?" "Don't think so," he put his hand to his forehead. "Feel," he grabbed her hand and put it to his head. She felt a surge of electricity blow through her body when he touched her. "No, you feel fine," she said once she remembered how to speak. "Thought so." "Chips?" She offered the bowl to him. "So, Scully you got any board games or anything? It's gonna be a long night," taking the bowl. She nodded, "Umm I have a deck of cards, all my board games are at Mom's. Wanna play cards?" "Maybe later." Dana rubbed her hands together, "it's starting to get really cold in here." Mulder opened his arms for her to come closer to him. "Body heat Scully, we will stay warmer if we cuddle." He gave her a warm smile, and moved closer to her. Scully nodded and moved closer to him. She brought the two blankets she was wrapped in and threw them over the both of them. "We are only doing this to survive." "Of course, I wouldn't want you to freeze." He wrapped his one arm around her back and took his other one and rested it across the both of them. They both just sat there for awhile, each unaware of what to do next or what the other was thinking. As the sat there in silence, the lights flickered twice and then shut off completely. "Just great," she felt around for the flashlight. "Hey, watch it." Dana blushed, "Sorry, was looking for the flashlight." "Well I can guarantee the flashlight is not there." "Here we go," she clicked on the flashlight, "wonder how long it will be out for?" "Well if the weather outside has anything to do with it, it will be out for days." "Days huh?" He smiled and nodded, "Guess we will just have to find ways to entertain ourselves." "Well, I don't have anything that would pertain to you brand of entertainment." She smiled seductively at him and leaned into the couch. "And what exactly do you mean by that?" He raised his eyebrows and sat up. "You know exactly what I mean, it's not a secret you know." "Scully!" "Well it's not." "You know you act as if it's a crime." "I never said that." "Have you ever thought, I watch those cause I don't have the real thing?" "What do you mean?" "What I mean is...oh to hell with it." He took her in his arms and placed her on his lap, bringing her into a full blown kiss. She didn't back away though, returning the kiss whole heartedly. "I was wondering when you were going to do that." She said breathless. "You were?" "Mulder, for an oxford educated man, you sure can be dense sometimes." She smiled and leaned into kiss him again. "Scully...what...are....we....doing?" He said in between kisses. "Mulder, we are two consenting adults, we are alone in my apartment, I am very attracted to you, and truthfully..." she got very quiet, "I love you." Mulder tucked her hair behind her ear, "I love you too, Scully. Always have, always will." Suddenly the lights flickered. "Looks like the power is coming back on." Mulder whispered in her ear. "Hold on," she got up and walked over to the light switch. "Scully, what are you doing?" She flicked off the lights, "I like it better in the dark." She attacked him and kissed him deeply. The rest of the night they didn't leave each others side, only to move their 'party' to the appropriate room. Scully's bedroom.
